Opener: 1. Using the fraction – rectangle model add the two fractions 1/2 and 2/3
2. Subtract 5/8 from 3/4
3. Maryanne brought of a 5/8pound of candy to the party. By the time they went to the movies, 1/4 of a pound had been consumed. How much was left?
